Next week, Sept 22-24, kicks off the widely attended DevOps World 2020 virtual conference. DevOps World is a very well-established premier event in the DevOps community, both to newcomers and veterans alike. All indications are that this year’s virtual event will be heavily attended as have previous years’ in-person conferences.
I am super excited to be one of three keynote speakers. I’m speaking on Wednesday (Sept. 23, 6:00 – 7:00 a.m PT) about some of the fascinating findings from our Accelerated Strategies Group’s research, The State of Software Delivery 2020. Download the report here.
During DevOps World 2020 I am also moderating the panel Show Me The Ugly Dogs (Sept. 23, 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. PT) with Gary Gruver (Accelerated Strategies Group), Hasan Yasar (Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University), Sanjeev Sharma (Truist), and a panel on Open Source, DevOps and Its Future In The Enterprise (Sept. 23, 11:30 a.m – 12:00 p.m. PT) with Alan Shimel, (MediaOps and DevOps.com) and Tracy Miranda (Continuous Delivery Foundation.)
Businesses now recognize software not only as a business necessity but as a strategic capability required to compete and win. That is even more so true in today’s disruptive and challenging economic conditions. Software delivery management is much more than just writing and getting code into production. Full end-to-end visibility into the value flow of software delivery connected with stakeholders and business functions vital to delivering and operating the capability is essential.
Our research shows the benefit of organizations’ focus on how they deliver through software and the importance of getting the right capabilities to market with speed. We also analyzed impediments to effective software delivery, including organizational and functional silos. I’m speaking about these findings and much more during my DevOps World 2020 keynote.
DevOps World 2020 is about much, much more than any single keynote or talk. Organized by CloudBees, DevOps World brings together a widely diverse group of experts, practitioners, and technology companies a unique, vendor-neutral setting. No product pitch is the rule of the day.
In addition to the exceptional technical and practitioner talks, DevOps World 2020 adds a new leadership track. The leadership track brings together presentations from business and technology perspectives but at a leadership level or the audience of leaders.
I’m very proud and pleased that Accelerated Strategies Group is the program chair for the leadership track. We’ve been hard at work with a cross-functional team of experts to select the best speakers and topics for this year’s conference – the best of the best. In addition to Accelerated Strategies Group speakers such as Gary Gruver and Sanjeev Sharma, there are fantastic panels, mini-workshops, and talks from leaders from multiple analyst firms, cloud and software technologies, finance, insurance, government and many other verticals.
